GUIDELINES FOR AUDIENCE MEMBERS
VILLIT – the WILD ONES
Set your phone in airplane mode or turn it off. Filming or recording the performance is not permitted. The performance begins with a guided walk lasting about an hour. Follow your guide and stay on the designated route.
You are responsible for your own safety. Watch your step and be aware of your surroundings.
Once inside, you are free to move about all three floors of the building.
The performance takes place all around you. Hold space to focus and avoid conversation.
Every viewer’s path is different. You won’t see every scene.
Move at your own pace. Wander between floors, follow the performers, or stop at whatever speaks to you. Something is always happening somewhere. Go and find it.
Don’t linger at the threshold – step boldly into the rooms. If there’s a red ball on the door, the space is not open to public. All other doors and some cabinets are open for you to explore.
Keep your senses open. You’re allowed to touch the objects in the rooms.
Performers may invite you to engage in personal interaction. Participation is always voluntary.
The WILD ONES RUOKALA on the first floor of the Seminar building is open throughout the performance and afterwards until 11:00 p.m.

The production is a part of the Oulu2026 Culture Programme and the Cultural Climate Change, as well as the Kajaani 375 anniversary program.
For me, wildness is about coming together, moving slowly and giving space to what we don’t yet understand in each other or in ourselves.
I have been working towards this performance for a long time. Many of my previous works still live here – as thoughts, materials, movements and questions. At the same time, this year is a personal milestone for me. It is a moment to look at both what has already been experienced and what lies ahead.
THE WILD ONES moves from one scale to another. Sometimes the gaze is directed to the smallest details with the precision of a microscope, sometimes we eye the vast landscapes. In the same way, I myself move between order and chaos. I love lists, structures and the security they create, but equally what happens when everything can no longer be controlled.
The relationship with nature and wildness have accompanied me for a long time. I am interested in the wild that is found under the soil, in forests, wastelands, on the outskirts of cities, but also in us humans. The part that does not bend into order or succumb to explanations. Sometimes wildness is the part of us that doesn’t fit in – the feeling of being a monster among others. A monster is born in the eyes of others.
THE WILD ONES has grown from the long-term, collaborative work of many people. Artists, designers, dancers, performers, volunteers and partners have built this world together. For me, this is exactly what wildness is: the coexistence of different voices, bodies and experiences. Thank you to everyone with whom I have been able to walk this journey.
I hope you find your own path in the performance. Walk, stop, be lost and get surprised.

Roskakatos-kollektiivi
Roskakatos-kollektiivi creates performance art using recycled and borrowed materials. Discarded items and trash are transformed into multi-layered works that take over unexpected spaces.
At the same time, the collective spreads the joyful message of recycling through uncompromising artistic means. THE WILD ONES is Roskakatos-kollektiivi’s fifth work. Long live recycling and borrowing!
The set design for THE WILD ONES was created using a large quantity of various recycled, borrowed, or rented materials:
fur, donated furs, mismatched gloves, old pantyhose, borrowed clothes, houseplants, old slide projectors, dead flies, old tulle, clothes collected for rag bags, moss for our yards, friends’ discarded items, recycled glass bottles, herbs, Christmas market fir trees, borrowed magnifying glasses, overhead projectors, discarded books, glass jars, fir tree stands, fax paper, clothes from old plays, trash, pine needles, broken dishes, marsh marigolds, sphagnum moss, recycled paper, lampshades, seeds, speaker fabric, mint, old sheets, clovers, dried spruce branches from Koirankari, used protective coveralls, old shakets, barley, authentic evening gowns, old protective tarps, ferns, coffee grounds, old curtains, fur hats, dried summer flowers, borrowed dresses, geraniums, borrowed caps, rotten wood, treasures found at the seminar, a coffee maker, weeds, borrowed silk, broomsticks, borrowed skirts, discarded fabrics, dried cheese sandwiches, wilted Valentine’s Day roses, etc.
