MUR is a performance about a hunch, encountering something new and the disappearance of the forest. MUR is based on Anne Vasko’s and Kaisa Happonen’s Mur book series and especially on it last part Mur and what the wind brought. The Mur children’s book series has enchanted readers abroad, the first part of the book series has already been translated more than 20 languages.
The performance is about the life of bear Mur, who doesn’t always know themself into a bear. In the performance Mur encounters a logging area and the Other – a bear almost like Mur themself, same size nd just as curious. The forest has changed, and a new kind of wind blows there.
”This is not a forest, but we are still bears. The forest should be where we are.”
